Financial Assistant – Manufacturing Industry - Germiston

About the Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Financial Assistant to join our finance team within a dynamic manufacturing environment. This position is ideal for a candidate with 2–5 years of experience who is looking to further develop their career in finance and accounting.

The successful candidate will provide key support across daily financial operations, reporting processes, reconciliations, and compliance-related activities.

 

Key Responsibilities

·        Manage and administer creditors financial systems

·        Manage and administer debtors financial systems

·        Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports

·        Process accounts payable and receivable transactions accurately and timeously

·        Reconcile bank statements, supplier accounts, and general ledger entries

·        Maintain and update financial records and filing systems (physical and digital)

·        Assist with VAT submissions, payroll processing, and statutory compliance

·        Liaise with suppliers, clients, and internal departments regarding financial queries

·        Capture and verify financial data in accounting software such as Sage Evolution

·        Assist with internal and external audit preparations

·        Perform general administrative duties related to the finance department

 

Minimum Requirements:

·        National Diploma or Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field

·        2–5 years’ experience in a finance or accounting environment

·        Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software (Sage Evolution preferred)

·        Solid understanding of accounting principles including debits, credits, and reconciliations

·        Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy

·        Good organisational and time management skills

 

Advantageous

·        Part-qualified SAIPA, SAICA, CIMA, or similar professional qualification

·        Experience with VAT submissions and SARS e-filing

·        Exposure to payroll processing

·        Experience within a manufacturing environment
