Industry: Fire Suppression Systems (Mining / Heavy Equipment)

Reporting to: Managing Director / General Manager

Team Size: ±30 Technicians (Field + Workshop)

 

Role Overview

This is a hands-on, no-nonsense operations role. You’ll be responsible for keeping a national team of fire suppression technicians productive, compliant, and profitable.

You’re not sitting behind a desk all day — you’re driving performance across mine sites, the workshop, and the full operational chain.

The focus is simple: plan properly, execute efficiently, control costs, and deliver quality work on time.

We are seeking a candidate who has a strong leadership presence, is highly organised and detail driven, is commercially aware (understands costs, margins and efficiency), be comfortable working in tough mining environments and is willing to travel nationally when required

Job purpose:

Operational Management | Resource Planning & Scheduling | Job Costing & Budget Control

Workshop & Field Co-ordination | Compliance & Safety | Team Leadership

Client & Site Management | Reporting & Performance Tracking

Client relationship management:

Success Indicators: Jobs completed on time and within budget | Reduced rework and operational inefficiencies | Improved technician productivity | Strong safety record across all sites

Positive client feedback and retention

Minimum Requirements

·        Minimum 10–15 years’ experience in Fire suppression systems, OR Mining services / heavy equipment maintenance environments

·        Proven experience managing large, dispersed technical teams

·        Strong background in operations, planning, and cost control

·        Technical qualification (Mechanical / Electrical / Trade Test preferred)

·        Additional management or operations qualification is an advantage
