VETTING & SCREENING
In strict accordance with the POPI Act and in order to protect all individuals’ rights to privacy, Job Masters has an experienced and highly efficient onsite AFISwitch Accredited Agent, processing all biometric checks requested through Managed Integrity Evaluation (MIE).
In the past, companies in particular have had limited means to pre-screen potential employees in order to ensure that all details provided by the potential employee are indeed true and correct. The varied and broad spectrum of pre-screening facilities as offered by MIE to companies however, have minimised any risk of fraudulent claims as to qualifications etc, being made by a potential employee.
MIE (Managed Integrity Evaluation)
MIE is the company through which all screening checks are sourced.
Amongst others, the verification services offered by Job Masters, and sourced via MIE, include ID and Driver’s Licence verification, Work Permit validation, Qualification verification, Institution Accreditation etc.
Requirements for each request :
• Completed and signed MIE Consent Form.
• Clear, legible copy of the document pertaining to the check required.
Response times of receipt of verification reports and the costs pertaining to these requests vary, as the requests are submitted by MIE to the relevant institution and are thus subject to each institution’s pricing structure and response time. As soon as the relevant report is received by the agent, the individual is contacted in order to be alerted to the fact that the report has been sent via email to the individual’s stipulated email address.
Criminal Record Process
Afiswitch (Pty) Ltd provides a national automated electronic criminal record check against the South African Police Service criminal fingerprint database.
Process for individual SAPS Criminal Record request :
• Arrange an appointment for individual to visit the Job Masters office.
• Produce original / certified ID in the form of either ID Book / Card, SA Driver’s Licence or valid Passport.
• MIE Consent Form is provided for individual to complete (NB – MIE requires that a signed Consent Form accompany each request – checks without a signed Consent Form will not, under any circumstances, be processed by the agent).
• Payment for services rendered to be made in cash.
• Fingerprints are processed by agent.
• Providing all is in order with AFISwitch, the result report is received via email by the agent either within 24 hours (Standard Check) or within 4 -5 hours (Premium Check) – given that there is a difference in the cost between the two available options, the required service depends on the individual’s requirements.
Criminal Record Report
As soon as the AFIS Report is received by the agent, the individual is contacted by telephone to be alerted that the report has been sent via email to the individual’s stipulated email address.
NB -- Should the report indicate that the individual’s fingerprints are indeed present on the SAPS Criminal Database, the SAPS Charge Sheet is processed and emailed to the agent. (Note: this process may take up to 6 – 8 weeks).
When the SAPS Charge Sheet is received, the individual is contacted, and then guided through the process required in order to apply for an Expungement.
